About the Commencement Schedule
Commencement at Georgia State University is a celebration of student achievement that spans the first week and a half of May. Associate, bachelor’s and graduate degree candidates, as well as Ph.D. candidates, will be recognized at ceremonies that will take place at various venues between May 3 and May 12.
Because of the pending demolition of the Georgia Dome, Georgia’s State’s commencement site for the past nine years, the university must move the ceremony for bachelor’s candidates to the McCamish Pavilion at the Georgia Institute of Technology this year. On May 8 and 9, these candidates will be recognized individually on the stage of the pavilion.
Graduate students will be recognized by their colleges and schools at events that begin the week of May 3. The hooding ceremony for Ph.D. candidates will be on May 10. Associate degree candidates in Perimeter College will be recognized on May 11.
